My sweet new friend Deb from RetreatStyle.com who specializes in vintage-style furnishings and accessories, recently told me that some of my cuffs were published in Porch Magazine in the Fall 2009 issue on page 71. Thanks so much Deb for telling me and thank you so much to Kimberly Taylor for including me in her fabulous magazine!

The Most Powerful Woman in Hollywood

The first official movie star, Mary Pickford, was considered the most powerful, shrewd business woman in Hollywood and also America's Sweetheart. She was paid more than Woodrow Wilson between 1915 and 1917 and she earned 50% of profits from all Mary Pickford films.

Don't Be Scared ~ No Microchip Implants or New World Order Conspiracies here!

Jillian Newman is the gorgeous model that purchased this corset from my etsy shop for her photoshoot with 666 Photography. Nice work Jillian! And Gayla...GaYLA! What a photographer she is! She has a BFA from the University of Texas in Austin and specializes in high concept photoshoots with a retro/vintage feel. She makes most of the costumes, creates and designs the sets and does most of the styling. Genious!

Jillian you look so lovely and thank you again! As for the New World Order and the microchipping... it is at the back door.

Featured in Viva La Moda Online Magazine!

Wow! This is exciting! This corset that I made for an up and coming model, Rachel Cook, (she was just signed on with ElITE!) is featured in the online magazine VivaLaModa in the May 2009 issue on page 72. It turns out the corset was still too big for Rachel so it is still available in my etsy shop. There are quite a few other Etsy artists in the magazine also. My lovely friend and mystery solver, Ivy Long, saw the corset and told me about it. The link is http://www.vivlamoda.co.cc/
It is a great magazine! Thanks again,Ivy!

Come Here, Baby ;)

Such a sultry doll! It cracks me up when I look over and see them all sitting together. She is a little banged up but still irresistable.

Mystery Woman~

This picture I found is marked Lady Jane Grey. But a nice neighbor from Vashon Island told me it isn't Lady Jane. I thought she looked like Marie Antionette and so does she? Anyone know? As soon as I know who it is I can list it in my etsy shop. :) Thanks!!!

Ann and Nancy Wilson

This wasn't planned, I just happened to set them right next to eachother and I thought "They look familiar!" Too funny~ When I was eleven years old, I came across a Heart album and was blown away. Them girls can sing! I am also from Seattle but I never met or saw them in concert. I did meet Howard Leese on the movie set of "Singles" years ago. He was nice and very personable. Alice in Chains was playing on the stage for the movie.

Tattered Lace Dreammaker

I made this with antique and vintage materials and is hand sewn, mostly. :) It makes me want to redecorate my whole house...Well that's not going to happen so I'll sell it on etsy instead. :) I just want to create all the time and I get pissed when I have to go to work...Snap out of it and get back into reality!

Vintage Nina from Etsy

I recently met Nina on Etsy and her artwork is very cool. I am mesmorized by this angel! It symbolizes Protection, Strength and Beauty. I have had a few run ins with a couple. I am so excited to meet her and couldn't wait to post her artwork.

I'll be back later to write some more about this lovely person... You can find Nina's site at http://vintagenina.etsy.com. Ok~ I finally made it back... Nina is such a creative, loving person. Her Bio on Etsy says she loves..."Her husband, her kids, people full of passion, lavender, artists that leave her breathless, vintage, girlie, the beach, candles, dreams, chocolate, french vanilla coffee, cooking, working in the garden, swimming under water, photography, garlic, looking at blogs, altered art, trust, fullfillment, art cards, antique stores, thrift stores, goodwill, hope, faith, shabby chic, dancing to music..." That is only half of it. She continues on with "fresh cut grass, wise souls and light bulb moments."

She reminds me to enjoy life even when I want to be pissed about it.

I read it to my husband and he said he likes toast, juice, milk, trix. It is all part of a nutricious diet... MEN!

Springtime on the Yangtze River

The materials on this corset are all vintage with the exception of the purple trim at the top and the base corset itself. I really like old asian materials and design. There is quite a bit of torn up lace and frayed items with rough edges. It is in antique "piecrust" molded frame with foo foo backing. The back has more frayed ruffles, and old brooch and a black tassle along with more of the faded antique asian fabric.

Red Silk Dress

What a Leggy Babe! She had no clothes when I found her so I made a red silk dress for her out of an old slip. She has SUPER long legs! :)

*Verbal Abuse*

Nine Needles!! That is how many broke off my machine during this creative process. I was so pissed by the end you would never know by looking at this delicate and sweet looking corset. I'm not usually a cusser but sometimes I verbally abuse my sewing machine. I feel much better afterwards. ;) This is a 34 c and is new to etsy. I enjoyed seeking out the treasures for this one. Most of these vintage materials were purchases at Whimsical Whites. See link under my favs!
